Northview Pharmacy of Brantford has been working to provide the residents of Carrington Place optimal service and we are please to announce nearly two decades of partnership.
Dell Pharmacy of Ancaster on Wilson street provides our clients with pressure stockings, teaching's and more and they are always happy to help with fittings.
Paramed Home Health services provides some of our residents with assistance with bathing and dressing in the morning and evenings when recommended by CCAC.
We currently have 2 family physicians who visit our Retirement home every two weeks. They have been with us for many years and are willing to add you as a patient if you desire to have a visiting doctor. Dr Rachelle Sender from Dundas visits every second Tuesday. Dr. John Nelson of Ancaster visits every second Wednesday. We are grateful for their constant commitment to caring for our seniors and thankful that they have chosen to be regular visitors to Carrington Place Retirement Home.
Award Winning Upper Ottawa Physiotherapy takes care of our in house physiotherapy program. A physiotherapist assess’ our seniors and makes recommendations for in house group and private sessions with their physiotherapy assistant. With a doctor’s order from your family physician physiotherapy for balance, strengthening and most other issues are covered by OHIP. Approximately half of our residents enjoy taking part in our physiotherapy/exercise class Monday through Friday to strengthen and maintain their physical health. Another third enjoy private walking, stretching and range of motion sessions with the assistant while working to meet goals set out by the physiotherapist. As well some of our residents enjoy the extra benefit of hand therapy done by our physiotherapy assistant involving warm wax to relieve the aches and pains of arthritic hands.
Robert Nekrasas of the Ancaster Foot clinic visits clients when needed for in home Chiropody. His reputation in the community is one of a kind. On average he visits once every 6 weeks and charges only a small additional fee for the in home visit.
Life labs a visiting lab comes to Carrington Place Retirement Home on Wednesday of every week to take blood work. Residents can stay in bed and relax without having to worry about getting up, dressed and out the door without a meal. Life labs charges a $20.00 fee for the visit but well worth it for most who find that all the work and rush in the morning can be too much.
We have a salon on site with hairdressing available on Thursdays and Fridays. Make an appointment with Kathy for a cut, wash and set or perm and yes she does do beards. Kathy has been with Carrington Place Retirement Home for many years and her clients love and appreciate her very much.
We currently have a manicurist and a pedicurist on site and available every week to make your nails the best they can be. Sign up for a manicure with Maureen or pedicure and foot massage with Angie who is also fully trained in foot care. Angie is able to care for those diabetic feet too!
Vitality health services Brooke Beney a recreational therapist is available to clients looking for additional companionship, or recreational activities. She works with the client to establish goals and interests assess’ their capabilities and tries to determine how to best serve each individual client. She has helped clients to maintain independence, stay actively involved in the community and acts as a personal assistant in many circumstances. She also connects with family on a regular basis when asked to do so and with the clients consent. A great service for anyone who could use additional stimulation and companionship.
